A Plastic bin filled with solely plastic bottles |
In a bid to ensure students of Ghana Institute of Journalism dispose off waste materials in an appropriate fashion, the Federation of Environmental journalists AKA campus task force, developed a segregation module, which will enable all stakeholders separate waste materials accordingly.
The move was in line with our theme for the year, "Seperation; a step to better waste management".
Through the assistance of Jekora ventures, a waste management company based in Accra, FEJ secured additional bins to see to the full realization of the exercise.
The bins were labelled, and materials dumped in them must be as indicated, i.e. Plastic, Organic and Paper.
Additionally, the Federation designed flyers with messages that will easily register in the minds of students.
