Federation of Environmental Journalists (FEJ) is an Organization on GIJ campus which is dedicated to writing to conserving the environment as our motto postulates. The Federation has been operating for some time now but was officially launched on 18th of April 2013, to fuel its full operation and participation of members through it programmes in and outside campus.
The Federation has over
hundred members together with eight competent members who make up the executive
body, a project team of three and an editorial body of two. Also, it is
privileged to have the former acting dean of the faculty communication and Social Sciences, Mr. Kwadwo Ansong Boateng as its patron .
FEJ is currently restricted to only students of
the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ). However, measures are being put in
place to expand its wings to other institutions that will embrace it
OBJECTIVES

To create awareness on the need of
keeping the environment clean within and outside campus

To enrich student journalists with the
requisite skills in environmental reporting

To report on environmental problems and
following up for results

To undertake educational projects such
as documentaries on the environment
·
To facilitate a working relationship
with various stakeholders
RATIONALE
Federation of Environmental Journalists has the
dream of exposing to the general public, stakeholders and concerned corporate
bodies the environmental problems in our society.
In addition, the Federation has at heart of
reporting on environmental issues and making recommendations to be able to
conserve and maintain a ‘greeny’ environment. As the motto postulates, “writing
to conserve the environment”, the federation also has an undying interest of
writing and coming out with documentaries for educational purposes.

Our mission is to protect the country’s environment
and also collaborating with stakeholders to seek solutions to environmental
