Global Water Partnership (GWP) in collaboration with Ghana Wash Journalism Network (GWJN) and the Federation of environmental Journalists (FEJ) launched a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) campaign at the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
The initiative dubbed 'ma wie (I'll talk about) my wash
concerns' is aimed at stimulating individuals to become more concerned about
the sanitary conditions in their surroundings and further encouraging students
to write more environmental stories.
Frederick Asiamah, an official from GWJN, took participants
through the rudiments of environmental reporting.
A WASH contest was subsequently launched and students were
asked to send entries detailing any topical environmental issue in form of
essays, photo stories or radio/television documentaries.
